Neblina
Neblina is a Project about memory. Change is a permanent factor in human lives, but its speed has accelerated exponentially since the turn of the century. Changes happen in cascade: The internet brought globalization and virtuality, and as well new ways of life that create a distinct line of fracture with the past. In my country, Spain, the old human landscape is going away because the activities and lifestyles linked to it are fading.
Together with a writer friend I ‘rescued’ places on the verge of disappearing or already gone: old hospitals, factories, mines, train stations. They were real in my childhood and defined our way of life. They felt permanent but happened to be transient, like stores in an American Mall.
Whilst I photographed, my friend investigated the places and brought back their history with amazing texts.
